Good Friday

I’m sitting here, having neglected to think about the fact that this is a very important time in a Christians walk to reflect - and just exist in it. I haven’t reflected yet.

But no, wait, there is a portrait in my Instagram feed of Jesus listening to Pilat. Jesus, in his true form, resembling a homeless vagrant. That’s what he was, that’s what he was. A homeless vagrant with a burden of love and light. His burden had to be carried out and nailed up. What a brave, loving, homeless vagrant. That homeless vagrant is my King and passion. I couldn’t be more proud to serve Him, and be loved by Him.

This year, things are different. My heart is different. My circumstances are different.

Dad begins a session of intensive chemo treatment this Good Friday morning. Life has taken a 180 degree turn since this time last year. Yet I can’t help but billow up with joy, laughter, and love.

Because that’s what was given to me by that homeless vagrant man.

He died so that I could laugh without fear of tomorrow.

If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness.

Saint Thérèse of Lisieux (via kvtes)

Oh my gosh. This.

…Poverty wasn’t created by God. God didn’t mess up and make too many people or not enough stuff. Poverty was created by us because we really haven’t lived into His vision of loving our neighbor as ourselves and of really understanding that someone else’s suffering needs to be mine and it demands something of us. When you have a massive disparity between the rich and the poor, that is unsustainable.

foxrunblog:

I’m a morning person.

I love mornings.

I love to sleep late a not talk and drink lots of coffee. Then maybe sleep again.

I love mornings.

People who wake up totally energetic are not morning people. They are afternoon people. They wake up ready for the middle of the day when stuff needs to be done and talkativeness is necessary.

Mornings are not those times.

Mornings are for reverence and reflection and calm.

I’m a morning person.

Straight up, girl.

I never turned on anonymous messaging. It’s on now. So if you’ve been wanting to do that, now is the time.
